Martin Radford commenced his cello studies in the Shetland Islands and soon after won a scholarship to study at St. Mary's Music School, Edinburgh. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Anna Shuttleworth and having regular classes with Joan Dickson and William Pleeth. Since graduating, Martin has toured worldwide in his capacity as solo, chamber and session musician. He has had several works written for him and has a keen interest in contemporary music. He regularly performs with World Music artists and a recording with cello and newly discovered vocals of the late Qawwali master Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan co-written and produced by DJ Gaudi will be released in 2007. As a composer, Martin has worked in Canada and Los Angeles for several Film/TV production companies. Recent works include 'Corinth and Aphrodite' which was premiered in London and he was the feature of a documentary for the BBC in which his chamber work 'Ujala' was broadcast. Martin is in great demand as a musical collaborator and his recent recording on 'CONTINVVM' with Italian electronic artists Gaudi & Antonio Testa (www.gaudimusic.com) was released worldwide in November 2005 to critical acclaim. He performs with flautist LISA FRIEND, electronic artist TATSUJI, who co-wrote and produced INDIGO. and the bands CELLORHYTHMICS (www.cellorhythmics.com) and BEDSPACE (www.bedspace.net). He is also Event Coordinator of the London International Piano Competition. He is currently working on an album with Tatsuji under the name of Stereo Art. Releases in Spring 2007 include recordings with Larrikin Love (Warner) and Hush (universal).
