For the few people who are not already in the know, Dirty Three are Warren Ellis (violin), Mick Turner (guitar) and Jim White (drums) and they make the most achingly beautiful music you will ever hear. Their unique sound glides from lullaby to catharsis to full-on sensory assault… taking in all the spaces and colours in between. As is widely known, Warren Ellis is also a full-time member of the Bad Seeds and divides his time between Nick Cave’s band and the calling of his own. Dirty Three are exceptional in many respects. An instrumental, violin-led trio who are lauded by the music intelligentsia but who also embody the primitive appeal of rock’n’roll unlike any other band.
