Diane Delin is a Chicago based touring jazz violinist and composer whose music is receiving great attention. The Downbeat Critics Poll voted her a Rising Star in August 2005, and The Chicago Sun-Times remarks, “her playing has a toughness and stringency to go with its elegance and verve." Neil Tesser, jazz radio host of "Listen Here" and author of the Playboy Guide to Jazz writes that she "can light a real fire under both a band and an audience” while Boston’s jazz writer and radio host Fred Bouchard states, “She’s really a fine player with exquisite taste.”

Delin has four solo albums on the Blujazz label. Her latest release, Duality, finds her in a duo setting with longtime cohort, pianist and composer, Dennis Luxion. Her third release, Talking Stick, named in the top 10 Chicago artist releases of 2001 by the Chicago Sun-Times, features her quartet with Delin’s writing for strings added to several songs. All three recordings have received international airplay with her last two reaching the national jazz charts.

A concert, club and festival touring artist, Delin also presents clinics (including those for educators), master classes and residencies. Delin’s concert, festival and clinic appearances in the Midwest United States, have been supported by the Illinois Arts Council’s Arts Tour program since 1991 and the Heartland Arts Fund since 2001. Her wide range of performances includes touring with the Frank Sinatra Orchestra to performing for President Clinton. She also teaches at Columbia College of Chicago.
