“I Ain't Got No Home”
Ellen is the inventor of what she calls the Long String Instrument - a gargantuan affair, with dozens of strings suspended as long as 100 feet over two large free-standing bridges. Sound is finessed out of the instrument by applying friction to the strings longitudinally (as opposed to transversely like a traditionally bowed instrument) using rosin'd hands .
