The Cello Acoustics is a cello ensemble built around Yoshihiro Kikkawa (aka “Yoshi”) Japan's only jazz cellist. Yoshi's band presents an innovative mix of styles drawn from jazz, classical, and healing music, with interludes of improvisation. Yoshi & The Cello Acoustics have recently performed on Session 505, a jazz program on Japan's NHK radio.
Yoshi will appear at New Directions Cello Festival 2006 as a featured guest artist in Sacramento California from June 6th till June 9th.
This track is from their debut recording -- titled simply "The Cello Acoustics" -- released in Japan and in Korea in 2001.
