Hangedup is a Montreal-based duo that makes enough racket for five or six. They have been described as "minimalist" and "ghostly." I would describe them as "expressionist." They create musical environments that articulate complex emotion - and generally unpleasant emotion at that.

This is a remarkable group that is able construct driving and compelling music without caving to pop conventions. Their newest recording Clatter For Control is available on Constellation Records.
